Brick-Tie surveyors carry out wall tie surveys all over Yorkshire, to establish whether wall tie corrosion is a problem. We use the most accurate and reliable methods to minimise damage to walls, whilst being thorough in checking the ties for corrosion.
In most cases a metal detector is used to locate sample wall ties, prior to visual inspection via boroscope technology. In some cases it is necessary to fully expose ties by removing sections of mortar bed-joint or masonry.
Subject to the property location, a site visit and domestic wall tie survey is free and without any obligation. We cover all of Yorkshire and further afield too when needed. If remedial work is genuinely the answer, we prepare a fixed price quotation and written report for you - we never recommend wall tie work unless it is really needed and we use recognised national standards to guide us.
Written reports, confirming that wall ties are corrosion free may incur a small administration fee, though verbal 'no evidence' reports are always free of charge.
Brick Tie Preservation's wall tie surveys are accepted by major banks, building societies and other mortgage lenders who may require them. Endoscopic photography, which reveals what our surveyor found is also available, subject to a small fee - please ask.
We've completed wall tie work on Leeds, Selby, Kirklees, York, Harrogate, Wakefield, Scarborough, Sheffield, and Bradford local authority housing, plus many thousands of private owned homes, all across the north.
For commercial and local authority clients we also offer surveys to establish wall tie density, cavity contamination levels and even existing wall tie orientation on new-build projects. Assisting is settling disputes and proof-testing existing wall tie systems; all supplied with in-cavity photography. Our experienced surveyors are able to help in a wide range of situations.
Brick-Tie technicians have City and Guilds NVQ level 2 in Wall Tie Replacement - nobody else in Yorkshire has such a well qualified workforce.
